Mauribix Posted June 10, 2013 Share #2 Posted June 10, 2013 Yep, I was waiting for it. Do you know if it comes as a free download for those who buy new Leica cameras now? (Leica M 240)
Jim-St Posted June 10, 2013 Share #3 Posted June 10, 2013 I spoke this morning to Leica in London about possibility of downloading LR5 using the TAN number that came with my M9 when I bought it last year. I was told that the download version on the Leica server will be updated to LR5 in the next week or so. So anyone else who got a TAN number after buying LR4 license can be assured they will be able to use it to license LR5. Just thought I'd share... I guess that is true only if you didn't use the TAN number yet. It's been like that in the moment within the end of Lightroom 3 and the birth of Lightroom 4. wda Posted June 10, 2013 Share #10 Posted June 10, 2013 Downloaded, installed, and it's updating my catalogue as I write. Details of how to download/buy here... ... Steve, I followed another link to the UK Adobe site, selected LR5 Upgrade Win/Mac, paid for it, got the licence number but when I go to the download page there is a line entry for my purchase but under the download column it says 'Not Applicable'. The only option is to download the multilingual version which I don't need. Did you find the same? If not any ideas how to resolve before I join the queue for an Adobe answer? Thanks. Jim-St Posted June 10, 2013 Share #11 Posted June 10, 2013 LR5 now available from Leica Owners' Benefits page. Also LR3 if your system will not support v.5. Also, as wda notes above, only International language available here too for LR5. Maybe that's all there is, as LR3 remains available with language optionality Jim
wda Posted June 10, 2013 Share #12 Posted June 10, 2013 Jim, my licence serial number is against the Win/Mac download, not the alternatives. So I cannot even download one of those, which I do not want. I have selected, paid for and received a receipt for the Win/Mac version of the upgrade. At present I cannot download it. Tomorrow I will contact Adobe UK Later: An hour after first trying, I suddenly find the bigger file in my Downloads folder. I am currently installing it. Probably just an early glitch in the launch. tele_player Posted June 11, 2013 Share #15 Posted June 11, 2013 I just tried to install the latest download from Adobe on 10.6.8, and it says it won't install. The Adobe US website says: "Mac OS X v10.7 or v10.8". Oddly, the UK sites says 10.6.8 is also supported. I really don't want to upgrade OS X, it works perfectly on my 2009 MacBook Pro - and I know if I upgrade to the latest I'll lose something else. I'd love to move to the UK, but that's not practical, either. -Robert See here : LR5 will run on 10.6.8, Adobe says

iforum Posted June 13, 2013 Share #17 Posted June 13, 2013 OS X upgrades are pretty cheap these days
Jim-St Posted June 13, 2013 Share #18 Posted June 13, 2013 OS X upgrades are pretty cheap these days Agreed. They're also more incremental and less dramatic than they used to be. For me, moving from SL to Lion did require updating the driver for my Epson 3800 printer, but other than that was problem-free. I think going from 10.6 to 10.8 would be a similar experience (though my old Mac Pro can't make that trip). YMMV of course, depending on what software you use, but you're probably going to have to make the move one of these days, and since you can no longer get OS X upgrades on disc, it's probably best to get them while you can. If I'd stayed on 10.6 beyond the issue of Mountain Lion, my Mac Pro would never have made it's last leap forward, and I'd be stuck with Snow Leopard-compaptible software now and until I shell out for a new machine. Lion has given me an extra year or two before I need to do that Jim

Sorry, only just read this. I didn't have any problems downloading the Mac version - I think it was the single language version. An alternative is to download the trial version. That will allow you to enter your serial number once it's been installed.
ymc226 Posted June 15, 2013 Share #20 Posted June 15, 2013 Can someone confirm that LR5 is the version that one gets when inputting the TAN number into the Leica website. I have unused TAN from a MM bought early this year.
