Superb pictures. The contrast of the lovely flower and the fierce face make for a stunning portrait. Great to see this beautiful dragonfly in full, but I prefer the unusually strong impact of the first picture. Awesome!

Ingrid, both are very lovely B&W photos and I too have a slight preference for number one because it shows so well the grasping legs. Imagine 2 foot versions of these in primal forests!

A great set with the second being my choice. I always liked Dragonflies. I used to call them Helicopter bugs when I was young.

yes..dragonflies are unique, Paul - these extreme flying skills of these tender animals are impressive - with pleasure I observe them if they whirr about waters - thus fluorescent so variously

 

Paul, I would call them even today helicopter :)
