Flash for M8

Really, we do not need all that flashpower. A unit capable of a 100 ISO guide number of 32 is perfectly adequate for all normal bouncelight purposes. We do not need to light up the Saint Peter's Basilica in Rome every day. Also, Metz flashes are to my mind over-complicated. They have lots of 'features' that look good in prospectuses but do nothing but screw you up in practice. As for M-TTL, few seem to use it. Give me a flash just a little more powerful than the SF-24, with a swiveling head, skip the silly extra reflector – but do give me a 'system' shoe-to-foot extension cord, not for the TTL, but for ISO communication and for flash ready and OK signals.

I am dead tired of electronic kitchen sinks.

I don't use flash very often, but since getting the M8 I've been carrying the SF-20 that I bought to use with my M7 and it's been working out fine. Today I was in one of those rare situations where I thought it would improve my shots, so I used it for several frames. I always drag the shutter in situations like this in order to bring up the background.
