The Visoflex III

Recommended Posts

DES, you will find that I advise the use of a camera support of some sort when using ALL Telyt lenses on the Visoflex elsewhere in this sub-forum. The most likely reason you find difficulty in focussing the 200mm Telyt is that as your hand becomes fatigued it shakes and it is well nigh impossible to focus a dancing image. Further, digital sensors are much less forgiving than film towards camera shake and the results suffer unless you use a shutter speed of at least half the duration that you would use for film. In general I find that the sharpness of the results is inversely proportional to the focal length of the lens used.

Successful results can be obtained with lenses up to 400mm by using a monopod but that 560mm trombone/rpg launcher needs the heaviest tripod you can afford or carry to obtain sharp results. I append two sample photographs, using a monopod, for (1) 200mm f /4 Telyt and (2) 400mm f/5 Telyt (V2). A shot from the 280mm Telyt appears in the other post.
