This flower crab spiders (Misumena vatia) are able to change color over a period of some days, to match the flower on which they are sitting (her in a peony). They use their powerful front legs to grab and hold onto prey (for example a bee) while paralyzing it with a venomous bite.

Wonderful nature shots. I've shot similar spiders on yellow flowers and their patience to catch a prey far outlasted my patience in shooting them and trying to get a capture moment. Beautiful work as usual, Guenther.
