too old to care Posted July 5, 2016 Share #17981 Posted July 5, 2016 Advertisement (gone after registration) This is the type of photos I took. This is in Austria. The shot was originally Kodachrome, but I copied it to Plus-X using a slide copier and a Pentax SLR. Welcome, dear visitor! The icing on the cake would have been the fourth shadow in full size... I agree, James. And to make matters worse there is nothing I can do to crop out the half-giant guy. So he remains permanently head-less in my photo Greetings from Jerusalem... Edited July 5, 2016 by A miller

chrism Posted July 5, 2016 Share #17993 Posted July 5, 2016 The first is insanely tonal, Chris. Wow, MarkP's favorite film shines again! What camera?? F6 and the much-derided 28-300 zoom. Occasionally I'll get some XP2 like that and it is so smooth it could be a 4x5. The silly thing is that if I took that with a digital camera I'd call it boring, but when I take it with film I feel lucky! PS, I just realised this film might not be exactly XP2. I bought lots of 24 exposure rolls of no name film in black canisters labelled "Black & White negative film. ISO400/24exp. Film made in EU. Packaged in China. Process C-41." from Freestyle a few years ago and they are still in the freezer. I suspect it is the stuff Ilford makes for sale in the UK and the Far East, usually as Fuji Neopan CN400. The film itself is marked 'ISO 400'on one side and has frame numbers on the other. Nothing else. The base is a bit less purplish than Ilford-brand XP2. Now I think of it, another very smooth result for a 35mm negative came from the same stock: Dan by chrism229, on Flickr Either way, the semi-stand Rodinal makes this film sing. chrism Posted July 5, 2016 Share #17995 Posted July 5, 2016 I'm in the business of using up film, not buying more of it! Anyway, the stuff hasn't been on Freestyle's 'shelves' for years. Funny, isn't it, a film that makes your film photos look digital - and we like it! Minimising grain was the order of the day when I started out, and I guess that still influences me, as I still don't care for the kind of grain you can trip over. EoinC Posted July 6, 2016 Share #17996 Posted July 6, 2016 Another shot. I do like flowers, as you can tell. My other love is candid shots of street scenes. I used to travel overseas for a living and carried a Rollei 35 pocket camera with me everywhere. I shot slide film and a few years converted many to digital via my Canon flatbed scanner. I was wondering if it would be ok to post a few of those? Anyway, shot with a Hasselblad in a local park back home. Tri-X, Rodinal 50:1. Wayne It would be more than alright, Wayne - It's mandatory for you to post those Rollei 35 shots and feed our inspirational needs. Kodachrome scanned with Canon flatbed scanner. Rollei 35SE, 40mm, 2.8 Sonnar probably stopped down to 5.6 or so. Welcome, dear visitor!
