Rodinal tastes awful [emoji3]

Sent from my SM-G903F using Tapatalk

That reminds me: 50 years ago we used to taste the film in our school darkroom to check the fixer had been thoroughly washed out. Probably accounts for my hair falling out.

And then I remember reading of someone who found he could never get his film to develop properly. Until he realised that having given up smoking he was not staying out of the darkroom for the correct time. I suppose really hardcore Rodinal fans might smoke a large cigar.

"And now you are just being silly."

Sorry.

The craft of film photography is more sensitive than you realise.

Just to show that Tmax fixed with a acidic rapid-fixer is turning almost clear (light grey) an will lose its purple colour:

The green colour in the picture comes from the bushes outside the window.

Here is another from Miss Liberty...

Venturing into some surrealism as a result of using the "white balance" instead of "auto" setting in the "Color" mode of Vuescan.

Velvia 50

Spectacular, Adam, but well-grounded with the dark sea. It's actually a neat internet-only experience scrolling down into this shot, as you don't know what you're going to see.

The last of Miss. Liberty.  This time with Provia 100F.

I managed to change film in the same film back 3 times over a 5 minute or so period.  My head was spinning and also I felt like a dinosaur next to the scores of other (mostly Asian, as part of some camera club) photographers who had their machine gun digital cameras and bazooka zoom lenses.   :)

Good work on being an organic motordrive, Adam. The earlier Velvia shot wins the day for me.
