Gary,

Indeed, such a backyard is a privilege. What is your experience with the Foma Retropan 320?

It seems very grainy, does that grain also show this strong in print? Does it improve with other developers?

How does it render the skin of people? The white horse in your picture almost looks as if taken with an IR film,

but that could also be the result of the low sun.

It was given to me when I purchased a small pile of Fomapan, so I didn't pay for it, and I still have a spare roll.

My thoughts? Well, I'll not run it down without possibly accepting a chunk of the blame first. It IS grainy, for sure, and this could be the way I processed it, all I use is R09, it is my preferred developer, and everything I shoot goes through it. So this "could" have a major bearing on the outcome. I haven't tried it in any other developers, and nor have I (yet) printed from the negs. I will, and will be sure to report back. I also haven't really taken too many people pictures with it, at the time I had it in the M6 everyone was flat out shooting foggy pictures, and I used it for a few of these.

The film is already low contrast enough, add to this the use (on this occasion) of possibly my lowest contrast lens, and old 5cm Summicron collapsible, and you have a recipe for a different look. Not quite I/R, but I get your idea. The attached is also from the same roll. It might have been posted before, but shows more contrast, no idea why as it's the same 5cm Summicron.

Thanks Henry for your kind words.

Here is another one of the Cherry Blossom shots from the Ueno Park in Tokyo.

M6, 35LuxFLE - scanned on an Optifilm 8200i scanner.

Technically this image is perfect : grain , tone, black and grey scale.

Gary thanks for posting

M6 and M7 are both good cameras if you like the "A" option

Good for the "decisive moment" as said Henri Cartier Bresson and Depardon :)

How do you develop your color film? And how do you scan, and with what scanner software?
