The following picture was taken some years ago on Tri-X with the M6 and the Summilux-50 pre-ASPH at f/1.4. It is a part of my Alone in Bangkok portfolio, which has just been published on David Alan Harvey's BURN Magazine website —you can see it here. But only three of the photos of the 19 in the portfolio were taken on film..most of the rest were taken with the MM.

Amazing picture Neil

Doc

Today I wet printed a 8 x 10 of Yuuki in the white wedding dress and it is unbelievably sharp..... I mean sharp sharp, 1m% better than what the scan looks like.

I will soon have my own wet/darkroom in my home in Thailand and then we will be cooking.

Now I need a shopping list of what I need to be able to print my own B&W and Color prints. Enlarger, lenses, timers..... All that cool stuff :)

I found out the reasons today of why it is important to handle the negatives carefully....... Spotting.

Not sure if I would have the paitiance or steady hand for that shit :)

I am trying to keep it simple right now. I am just going to use TMAX 400 for B&W and Kodak Portra for color until I completely get the hang of both camera and meter. Once I am comfortable with these two elements of my film photography, yes absolutely I will try other types of film........WHY

I shot a whole roll of TRIX at ISO 100 because I forgot to change the ISO setting on the hand meter. I put a roll of XP2 into the developing tank and couldn't find the timing for how long to develop the film for until later I found out it needs to get developed the same as color, so on and so on so Ive bitten the bullet and will just shoot these two film types

Neil,

It's too late now, but XP2 can be developed beautifully in B&W chemicals. I never use C-41 chemicals on it unless I am doing a colour film at the same time and they can both go in the same tank. It does especially well in Rodinal 1:100 (shot at ISO200) and in HC-110 (dil. E).

Some starting points for experimenting are in the Massive Development Chart, which I think has been recommended to you before.

chris not to late mate.

The XP2 film is on a reel on a black bag. I can easily transfer it to a tank and add LC29 (that's all I have) I just need to know the minutes in the Dev???

The wet printing is a piece of piss. It's remembering all the steps that is a challenge.

I also did bleaching today and got to see the effect of that...... We even have someone in KL that than professionaly hang/mount prints...... Now that process is cool :)
