I was on the Upper East Side a few days ago visiting my uncle and decided to take a walk down Park Avenue on my way home.

I was invited to the inauguration of this chapel (XIXth cent) after 2 years of renovation
The color is very well reproduced by the Kodak Film and I have made no changes
or

corrections to the original photo that comes directly from my scanner
On photo color paper, it gives also a beautiful color :)

The windows are made by a welknown modern sculptor JeanPaul Agosti *

A couple of signs on bridges in the Dorchester area that caught my attention. Something rather nice about these old typefaces and the flowery language employed.

Interesting that the sign writer felt the need to capitalise the threatened sanction. As history has shown, this was probably no idea threat (the local powers that be in Dorchester being quite keen on transportation).

"Ponderous carriages". :D  Can't help think we have lost something in the way we use language nowadays.

E. Archdall Frooks sounds like some busybody straight out of a Dickens novel.

Love it! The former Clerk of the County Council of Dorset seems to have had his name mis-spelt on one or other of his directives.

Public flogging offence, surely!
