ColColt Posted April 3, 2016 Share #13322 Posted April 3, 2016 (edited) While color absolutely has it's place, B&W has long been my favorite medium for photos, usually either FP-4 or Tri-X with HP-5 a close runner up. EoinC Posted April 3, 2016 Share #13324 Posted April 3, 2016 So Eoin, after what looks like half a dozen or more rolls through the Hasselblad, what are your thoughts as opposed to using the M6? Assuming you take out the "new factor" that a new camera gives. Gary I love them both, Gary (Camera Polygamy...). 1) The Hasselblad is a lump of beauty, a mechanical marvel. There is something very special about the square format, the bright Accu-mate screen, and using a waist level finder. You can see the picture forming before your eyes, and the belief that you "got it" is very strong. The look that you get from other people is curiosity - The little boy on his bike asked his Dad what I was doing and, by the looks of the shot, was in peril of crashing through distraction. 2) The M6 is a lump of beauty, a mechanical marvel. There is something very special about how it makes you feel included in the scene. The rangefinder feels very agile, and makes shooting decisions a "snap". The meter is excellent, and makes for quickly landing on a workable exposure combo. The shutter is so silent, that it almost makes you wonder if it fired. The size of the camera elicits a different look from people, as it doesn't appear threatening, particularly compared with a DSLR. Right at the moment I'm shooting more with the Hassleblad, but that really is down to the new toy factor. I know this, as I am very happy also when I switch back to the M6, and do not regret leaving either behind more than the other, if I just go out with one. Here are a few more from the M6... a001 by Eoin Christie, on Flickr a006 by Eoin Christie, on Flickr

This is on Kodachrome 64 with a bad combination: sandstorm and flat tire best regards Marc I like the combination, Jean Marc - Kodachrome, sandstorm, and someone else having a flat tyre Nice shot, and good to see someone not too scared to pull out a camera in a sandstorm.
