Hello manivelle,

Beautifully designed scenery.

But apparently you forgot to use a fill flash, which would make the faces appear more appealing.

Best wishes

Ludwig

Thanks Ludwig,

I never use a flash actually or a bounce card whilst taking photos in order to keep a low profile and get genuine expressions even with the one off posing  shot like this one , I could enhance their faces in pp but decided against it .

Cheers, JM

From atop the Freedom Tower with my good friend (and partner in crime), Steve Blitz

Using a "lenskirt" and small tripod which only after the fact we were told were not allowed... :(

They came in handy, though, as the image is tack sharp on the Fujiflex print I made

Xpan , Hasselblad 90mm and Provia 400.

IIRC, back in October 2011, these cranes were on top of the Freedom tower being built .

Now that's a possibility!!!! I have to get one of those lens skirts first ....

hurry b/c the 7:15'ish sunrise is just early enough to beat the arrivals of my colleagues at my office...

Yes I agree and would even say it's remarkable how little effect the backlighting from those enormous clouds has on the subjects. I saw that you published a similar one (or is it the same?) in Plateform in black and white but I think the colour version is stronger.

I like this just the way it is.  Very natural and clear even despite the backlighting...
