Hello everyone, apologies for the radio silence; I've been away for a week (and hope to have some new photos to post soonish). In the meantime, here are two (rather boring/odd) photos where I've tried to stretch the tonality as much as possible in post (both in Diafine).

Tri-X on Hexar RF with a 28 Summaron 5.6 and the wrong hood !

Nice. Sometimes I like pics with the hood circle in the corners. It doesn't freeze the image as in a normal shot.

It gives you the idea that what you have just taken was passing quickly.

awesome, love them!! don't keep these to yourself! The second is a bomb! The first is nice too but would suggest tilting it a bit to make it level. Love that second one!

The second is really a bomb, amazing!

Hi Gary, I thought the first version (where the first photo casts a long black shadow) was nice. The highlights "scream" a little bit but you could try opening the TIFF in Adobe Camera Raw if you have that and play with the Highlights slider to temper them a bit. You might also be able to use the Shadows or Black sliders to bring up the shadow areas a bit too, though I like the photo being very contrasty; I find it fits the subject, being a coral with sharp edges). There's an upcoming Christie's auction of "Exceptional photographs" which has plenty of high-contrast b&w photos, including still-lives, which I find is an effective way of focusing the viewer's attention.

The second one is also very nice.

Thank's for the tip

I like the colour in this one, Massimo. Together with the shallow depth-of-field it gives the image a cinematic look.

Exactly what I was about to say... then looked a few posts down, and saw you articulate it even better.

Poundland film (the Agfa Vista 200 which is, I believe, rebranded Fujifilm), Adam.

I think the existence of this cheap film is a reminder of how nice Fujifilm colour C41 can be.

Shot on the £1/roll Agfa Vista 200, which seems to handle bright/contrasty conditions quite well.  Cropped to 8x10".  MP, 35mm Summaron f2.8.

It is also very capable of handling subtle tonal transitions.  Quite a bargain!

It's great film I have about 10 rolls in the fridge, next time I'm going to shoot it at iso800 but have it developed at box speed 200 you can sometimes get 400 but I have not seen any for a while
