Good man - my last bike was an R65 complete with full Rickman Polaris fairing and BMW panniers.  Shed a tear when the buyer rode off on it :(

And now back to the regular programme ;)

Walking towards the sun - Rolleicord Vb & Velvia 100.

wonderful, Keith.  I am going to start shooting more velvia and provia.  The colors are so amazing!

Last week came across these old trucks in North Yorkshire UK.

Leica MP with 28mm Elmarit V4 and Fomapan 400   D76 1+1   11mins 45 secs   20 degrees C     first 30 secs inversions  plus 3 inversions every 30 seconds.

Really good, Paul.  One of my favorite lenses for film...

Another from the Williamsburg bridge...

Only a longer focal length than what I shared before (equivalent of a 90mm in 35mm terms)

Fuji Velvia 100

When you look at the results , nothing really compares to film. The richness in the details, the feel of the images that is not attainable with digital, digital images seem sterile.

I like it a lot, Henry, very cool juxtaposition making not only the Shard, but also the row houses, look tiny. And I see you caught a helicopter on film too :D

br

P

Philip , thank you for your nice comment.

I took another picture with my M9 with the escutcheon of the subway

but I prefer the sky and building in film in terms of color :)

I also wanted the old buildings aligned with the new Shard

Best

Henry

Welcome GV to this thread

Glad you join us :)

Nices b&w pictures. More ?

Yes I agree with you .

I do not stop saying that the film is far superior to digital "flat" image with "no relief", without "nuance" for digital in one side , versus image with "shade" in gray and in black for b&w in the other side , "bright and warm" color for film , "in relief" , versus color sometimes non-real in digital, therefore need to correct with LR or PS, and here we enter the field of "apprentice sorcerer" because this is approximate (incompetence for me because the color is not so simple than you think)

Best

Which GS is it Gary - I used to have a 1200GS but regretted not getting the 1150 GS.

It is the one that everyone you talk to regrets selling the 1100gs Kalahari yellow that nobody wanted when it came out but now everyone wants, it has been chipped to give more power and better fuel consumption

Lovely tones Foma is a great film, I use Rodinal for mine but I might try ID11 which is meant to be similar to D76 I think

My GS taken with Kodalith Ortho ( picked up 300 feet for £0.50 at our club auction) developed in Rodinal, M4P + 28mm Ultron

I think this was my first test with Kodalith

Yes I know where you are coming from on this  - the highlights are burnt out. The silver print of this retains more detail in the highlights that are smoother and less contrasty. I find this though with scanned TRI-X , that it does tend to blow the highlights.

I don't know if this is down to my scanner (plustek 8200i) or in this case the negative is just a little bit thin, not so that you would notice much in a print but maybe a half stop more exposure would have helped. This has been my real issue with this scanner that especially with TRI-X it doesn't scan as well as I would like. I had a Nikon Coolscan that to be honest was in a different league and always produced really good scans that required virtually no tidying up. This is one of the reasons that I have now changed to Fomapan 400 as I find that it scans far better than TRI-X. This isn't a criticism of TRI-X film though as for prints I think it's still the very best.

I do however like to give my images a bit of punch even with digital converted to B&W as for my type of photography I find that strong blacks and whites are more appropriate to the image.

I picked up a Plustek 7500i at our club auction for £12  :D  and love it
