Doc Henry Posted January 5, 2016 Author Share #9262 Posted January 5, 2016 After long time without shooting film (my M7 was in Wetzlar for CLA/update of the DX code reader)….. M7, Summilux-M 50V2, Adox Color Implosion @ 400ISO …. grain grain grain….. Scan from negative, NO CORRECTIONS La donna in cornice by Massimo Della Valle, su Flickr Massimo , glad you come back with us. First Happy New Year Massimo Your picture , is it a crop ? For the M7 I never had this coding problem. Sometimes when I don't put the adjusting wheel correctly, it doesn't work and led are flashing. In this case , I place the wheel in manual adjustment . I try to see if it works in the rangefinder. If it works , I place to DX and it works. You must also check that the electrical contacts must be clean ,especially if the camera has not been used for a long time. Best Henry

Poor Adam has to make do with the sights and sounds of New York and London, but this is what street photography means in the tiny Swiss village where we live. There are literally more cows in the local community than there are people. Moo. XP2 again, but this time with my trusted Contax T2. Best Henry Ciao Henry, happy new year to you, I wish you a wonderful 2016 full of films :-)!The photo I posted is not a crop. My M7 is one of the first production lot (2002), it had the old DX reader with physical contacts with springs. In September it started to not read a roll of Tri-X 400, even if selecting manually the ISO. Leica told me that this first version had this problem, and it was replaced in production one year later with a new version with electrical contacts. Leica performs this upgrade in good will for free: mine was after 12 years old. Now it is perfect. And at the same time I got my M7 completely checked, cleaned and the rangefinder realigned to perfection. And they installed also a new leatherette. Now I can leave my MM for a while at home and restart shooting film :-) Regards, Massimo

A miller Posted January 6, 2016 Share #9273 Posted January 6, 2016 Wow. I've seen many pictures with very similar composition. But the Ballerina really adds something here. Wonderful light well captured. Wish I'd taken it. Thanks, Trev. I will come back to this same spot after a good snow this winter. After that, I'm done with this place as I don't think there is another rendition that interests me. Cool shot Adam with wonderful light. Did you clone away people or actually physically remove them? The ballerina (what is she doing there?) adds a very nice surreal touch. Unfortunately, with these kinds of places when there is a shot to be had people seem to come out of the woodworks. They just all can't stay home! I took a bunch more during the hour long sunset period and there are many that I really liked. But the people in the street were distracting, so I put them aside and focused on this one. I probably could clone the people out of the others in PS but I don't how to use PS... I used the equivalent of an 80mm lens which was long enough to block out a lot of the crowd that was forming around me. I really appreciate your thoughtful feedback...
