Accidental double exposure: I thought I did not load it properly, so rewinded and loaded again. Now I want a 35mm camera with multiple exposures functionalities🙈

I agree that the Nikon FM2/3 option is a good one. The Contax S2 works just as well.
If I remember correctly the Pentax LX has been developed with a system that allowed multiple exposures on any picture on a film roll, but I have no 1st hand experience with it.

For starters you may like to experiment with the Lomo LCA+ (or other Lomo camera’s). Not the optically perfect option, but with double exposure that may be less of an issue, and it is easy to work.

Leica R5 and R6.2 have a very effective double-exposure function, (maybe other R-series as well).  Release the shutter, press the rewind button on the base of the camera (it clicks into place).  Cock the shutter again and it does not wind on, button on the base releases at the end of the advance-lever travel.

Thanks a lot @John Robinson. Not sure if I want to open the Leica slr pandora box though. I tend to be a gas disaster.

There are pros and cons for Leica R-series cameras.  The pros are the opportunity to use R-series Elmarits, Summicrons, Summilux, Vario-Elmar etc on film.  The cons are that the cameras can no longer by repaired by Leica (third-party repairers may be available) but they are built like tanks and surprisingly cheap to purchase.  The other pro is that the lenses are superb when attached to the Leica L-Mount digital cameras using the Leica R-Adapter L which can even read the ROM in the lens if it has one (other adapters are also available).
