Nikon FM3A, 45mm F2.8P, Portra 400

Shot wide open at Minimum Focus Distance.

I like the way this petite lens renders the image, and the focus fall off..

First roll from the camera and the lens 🙂

I could have been standing in the exact same place as an early settler may have done in the time when these Islands were first inhabited around 8000 years ago.  Why do we ignore the rules of cause and effect which our forbears understood?

It must have been a very different world 8000 years ago. The sea level was much lower, GB was still connected to the continent and the Dogger Bank in the North Sea was mainland and a fertile hunting ground. If we are long gone, the land I live on today will also be sea bed....
We will probably ensure that the whole thing happens even faster than without our influence.

Glen Farrar. M3, Portra 400, Noctilux f1. Entry is gated onto a private road, you have to knock on the door of a cottage, but in practice there is no actual restriction other than times of day it is 'open'.

Yes, it rings my bell, for sure--amazing architectural celebration, and that dark trapezoidal shape gives it scale. I want to go back. Applause, applause for your seaside poetry photograph, as well, very cinematic.
