On a more technical note, I believe that the Superpan emulsion is sensitive into the IR domain, which explains why skin colours in sunlight often are depicted whiter than would be the case with emulsions such as FP4, for example. 1

Thanks. Yes, it has some IF sensitivity. I also shot it with an orange filter, which might act as a weak infrared filter, as far as I understand. I think it is a beautiful emulsion, in particular if you have plenty of day light. I was actually about to buy 100tf of it this morning, then I stopped 😂 and cleared the cart. Edit: it also gives very sharp results with a good lens! The blow-up of the naked guy is still decent. Welcome, dear visitor! John Robinson Posted November 10, 2022 Share #84117 Posted November 10, 2022 (edited) Senate House, University of London. Some may recognise it from the Spiderman films, others from the early film of 1984 (it was actually used as the Ministry of Information in WW2 and George Orwell worked there). What may be less well-known is that the upper levels are one giant book stack for the central library of the University. Urban myth has it that the shelves are welded into the metal frame of the building to ensure it can't be used for anything else. Welcome, dear visitor! stray cat Posted November 10, 2022 Share #84118 Posted November 10, 2022 (edited) A series of unfortunate events led to three rolls of film from my recent trip to the United States being lost, possibly (probably) permanently. I'd decided to get the first lot of films I'd taken on our trip developed locally so that I wouldn't have to worry about x-rays at the couple of airport security checkpoints I'd be passing, so August 1 I took them to a lab in Seattle which had been recommended to me. After some time, when I was back in Australia, I ended up ringing the lab a few times (they weren't responding to emails) and was told that they'd recently moved address and that things were taking a couple of weeks longer than normal. Anyway, long story short, eventually I received the low-resolution scans I'd asked for via email and, some time after that (after I rang them again and asked a local friend to pay them for postage) they posted them to me. That was September 9. Then Australia Post for some reason delivered them to a post office in a town 20km down the road instead of my town. I went there but that post office told me that they'd been mis-sorted and for some inexplicable (to me) reason they'd been sent to Perth, Western Australia which is some 3,500km from where I live. That was early October and no-one seems to have any idea (or care) where the hell they are (except me of course). So I do apologize because any of these photos that I do post will be from just the low-resolution scans. My apologies for the rant. It's enough to convince you to go digital. Just kidding (about the digital thing - the rest is all too true). I think I'll just take my chances with x-rays in future. 😖 Welcome, dear visitor! It probably adds to the frustration of all those films that you lost when - you developed them with expired developer - you opened the developing tank too early - you accidentally opened the back of your camera with the film still in - you shot a whole roll only to notice afterwards that the film wasn’t transporting ( usually when you are at frame 40) - you noticed the light leaks that indicate that your camera needs a service - … 😁 (You’ll notice I’m experienced in this …)
