I was out of the country all Sep & Oct (France & Spain), so lots of catching up to do.   Have just found time today to develop a roll of Acros 100 from my Rolleicord Vb.  Looking east along the River Cher near Chenonceaux.

I know this place Keith :)

near Chenonceau castle isn't ?

Nice b&w photo and good contrast

This location is in the mountains here, in Colorado.

In this case I was using the small letter (non-capitalized) "a" version of "alpine", i.e., not in The Alps, but rather:

adjective
1.
of, pertaining to, on, or part of any lofty mountain.
2.
very high; elevated.

I do wish I was in the Alps right now, however! Maybe soon…  :)

James

James ,  good moment to learn ... :) thanks

in vietnamese it's "Alps" :D

very beautiful composition and rendering.  You've been reading my mind as I have spent quite a few mornings there recently and will be sharing some one my own renditions soon.  But not to take away from your photograph which is really beautiful and classic in every sense.

Thank you for your kind comment, much appreciated. I look forward to seeing your photos!

This was from just about one year ago during my last visit to NY, on a very grey, cloudy day. Not far from the Boathouse, looking west.

Talking of film, a friend gave me a roll of Formapan 100 to try. An interesting film, I enjoyed using it and will try more.

Too much to do, so little time.

Gary

You are absolutely right :)

After all those quality shots on the last pages I am back with another try in Cinestill 800. Unfortunately I wanted to insert a new film half way through the roll - one has to check the picture counter, me think... Now I got some interesting light leaks across my film - but I cropped the shown image to hide my incapabilities

very nice, James.  Looks to be the onset of the magic hour.  The lighting is very natural and would have come yellow is porta were used.  I wish they made the cinestill in 120 format... :(

wow, these are amazing.  the resolution and tonal range are very impressive.  the delicate branches and tree branches and trunks render so naturally.  Any filters used?  Was the film developed normal at box speed or were adjustments made to compensate for the particular tonal range in the scene?

This is a slight digression for the dog lovers among us...

Last Friday I schlepped to Williamsburg Brooklyn before dawn for some (foggy) sunrise shooting and was happy to find myself with access to the banks of the East River (I hadn't been there before and so didn't know how much access there was to the river).  When I arrived it was pitch black and only after the sun came out did I realize that I had put myself in a dog park.  Dogs of all sizes started arriving with their owners and they really liked my camera!

I picked this dog out of the crowd (who IMO was in a class of his own) and created a spot for it, set up the camera and then invited the owner to bring her dog to the spot that I had set up.

I sent her the photo and was pleased.

Kodak Tmax 400 (with the foggy Manhattan skyline in the background...)

Ah dog-gon, good to see you back on street photos Adam, LOL.

Gary

ha ha, thanks Gary.  What else was I going to do on a morning like that.  It was supposed to be glorious with all the fog.  You can't even see the skyline.  If you squint hard enough you can see a silhouette of the Empire State Building through the 3 chimney stacks off in the distance to the right of the giant dog... :)
