Straight out of "No Country For Old Men" or maybe "Paris, Texas" or Bogdanovich's "The Last Picture Show". America as seen and accutely observed through European eyes. Quirky, sociological, beautiful and dare I say, "cinematic".

Thank you so much, stray cat for your kind comment. Much appreciated. :))

I’m currently living vicariously through your photos, I usually visit Japan once a year but now no sushi or mackerel for 2 YEARS 😣

Congratulations, Wayne. Life goes on !   And what a lovely photo. The Rollei seems to be perfect for children.

Thank you. I would guess that the rather unusual shape and design of the Rolleiflex is powerful enough to capture the extended attention of even the youngest subjects. It may have had a role in her keeping still long enough for the rather long exposure.

Best,

Wayne

Wow! This is really exploring some interesting territory, Ken. The precise, razor sharp Mamiya lens and that sumptuous big negative are just made for this sort of scene with so much intriguing detail. A monochrome "color field" that keeps the eyes wandering all over. Would love to see more along these lines.

Thanks so much, Phil: it's due to your encouraging me to reduce the box speed and cut the developing time.

Simple is hard. Sumptuous and scintillating primaries snapped from a kind of surrealism with that so necessary shadow line. Yes, someone has been having fun in the mind with that corrugated crimson roof and cadmium yellow block wall. This where the square really sings.
