This is somehow very different from the rest. I REALLY like it. Sort of magic.

Sincere thanks, Wayne.  :)

Has there been smog that day? The sky in the background has a slightly orange tint on my monitor. Very nice picture, nonetheless!

In the following situation I found the brightness of the birch trees in front of the darker pine trees very appealing:

Many thanks, Jame.  Not really sure.  For some reason the photo has a rather earthy white balance.  I has put it aside for a long time but every time I stumble upon it I stop and gaze at her and remark to myself at how I love the leathery look of the palette.  It holds my interest!

Tmax 3200, M6, Apo 90, very grainy, but at the moment I like this style a lot.

Really great, Marc.  I can see how the that film would be very useful for you.  Love the clean yet soulful look of the grain.

Beautiful countryside, Wayne.

Thank you for the compliment. I know it is by no means a dramatic skyline, but I do see the influence of your beautiful skyline photographs in it.

Best,

Wayne

IT really is lovely.  What's "510 Pyro" mean?  Sounds like a grade of firework 🤣

It is a home-brew, staining developer. I am not sure where "pyro" comes from; I believe it to be a bit more caustic. I know, for certain, it is not forgiving: miss the mark and it renders a real thin negative.....At least in my experience. It does, however, seem to do very well with highlights.

Best,

A shout out to Phil for turning the page to Trent Parke, whose work is headlong inspiring. I took delivery on two of his innovative books this week that I recommend highly on Phil’s heads up: Minutes to Midnight and The Black Rose.  Cue raucous APPLAUSE. Minutes to Midnight, published by Steidl, is currently available at a reasonable price,  whereas The Black Rose is only available on the secondary market.

(to be continued with my reading of his work)

 Cheers, Rog

Thank you for the shout-out, Rog, but you are the reason I began to understand that there is so much more to Trent Parke than that he is an excellent photographer - his work provides an object lesson on editing and sequencing, and illustrates perfectly the ability to involve the viewer as an active participant in the performance. I value these books so much more as a result of your guidance as to what he really says in them and invites us to reflect upon - thank you.
