I like the other better.  The children on the right in this one adds an element of interest that I like.  But the kids on the pier make the photo look snappy and detract from the mood that you have established in the first photo.  Also, I like the color scheme and smooth tonality of the first better.  There isn't a big difference, but I do notice one.

Having said this, the horizon in the second seems a little more level than the first.  You might want to take a look at this.

Yes I agree with you. Shame I couldn't just catch the kids to the right on the beach without the ones on the disused jetty where they were. Unfortunately the kid elements never quite lined up perfectly.

I see what you mean but I just rechecked the horizon lineagainst the edge of the sand, the waterline and the distant foliage line - they were all the same!

I seem to have lost this one when I was checking the horizon but it vanished so reposted

Mods can you patch this up in the previous post including the thanks?

Mark - It may be an optical illusion on my end.  There are several horizontal lines in the image and it of course would be quite natural that they all not line up.  I don't think the second image is a shame.  I think the first is really all you need.  It conveys a very peaceful tranquility that are matched by the smooth tones.  I think that if you mad a analog darkroom print of this (instructing the printer to tame the highlights in the clouds) you would get even more detail and consistency of color across the sky and the sharpness in the overall image will be enhance.  I might try it with this image.

Presentation ..... we are in a fairy tale for children but for adults like me,

Flowers everywhere, that's beloved by Claude Monet, the impressionist painter of his time

Kodak Portra 160 and M7 combination , it's magic !

Thanks for posting the Monet's garden! I think I'll try Portra 160 :)

Ellie , there is something "fresh", "softness" too, when you see the color that emerges from this film.

On the other hand I love the French impressionist period.

Thanks for your comment and thumbs up
