honcho Posted June 12, 2015 Share #5042 Posted June 12, 2015 Magpie Mine has a colourful history, a great place to while away a few hours squeezing almost medium format quality out of 35mm film. Getting close with Rollei RPX25 in Pyro, until you do the same with roll film of course, then you're knocking on the door of 5x4". Leica MP Cosina Voigtlander 28mm color-skopar f3.5 Heliopan R25 Rollei RPX25 processed in Pyro. Welcome, dear visitor! Sparkassenkunde Posted June 12, 2015 Share #5043 Posted June 12, 2015 This shot looks wonderful with the calm and barren landscape in front and the towering clouds for a dynamic and powerful result. Very well seen and implemented - thumbs up!!!
honcho Posted June 12, 2015 Share #5044 Posted June 12, 2015 Thanks, James. RPX25 is a pretty amazing emulsion, it's high contrast character begs to be exploited with an O22 or R25 filter

Doc Henry Posted June 13, 2015 Author Share #5051 Posted June 13, 2015 (edited) Man, that's an unhappy face if I ever saw one!! Keep posting you guys, forget the discussion on black or not. Gary Gary, we begin to know each on this thread dedicated to the film ... I like Cuthbert and Adam ... I do not know if they leave us it will be a big loss...... so I like to stay as good friends with these worthy gentlemen ..and photo enthusiasts. That said, the black obtained on paper (Ilford here) that I have at home photo lab through the enlarger is still different from what we get by the scanner (for my posts here) . I have a unit for measuring the light of the enlarger and according to each photo, the exposure time may change. Sometimes, simply in 1/10 seconds for changing the black . The time of revelation can also affect the black (eg deep or medium) I have a lot of fun to adjust (if you want more or less black and gray) on photographic paper. The film has not yet finished to amaze me. Best Henry Edited June 13, 2015 by Doc Henry

philipus Posted June 13, 2015 Share #5054 Posted June 13, 2015 Great shot Christoph. It's my adopted hometown. I intend to visit the exhibition soon and was happy it had been extended. I went to Corbijn's book signing a few weeks ago. He looks very different from what I had imagined. Cuthbert Posted June 13, 2015 Share #5057 Posted June 13, 2015 Cuthbert , very nice color Thanks for sharing Best regards Henry I've another confession to make, this pic has evidently taken with a very wide lens, in this case a legendary one, the DDR Flektogon 20 mm f2.8, I thought it was a M42 lens but when it arrived I found out it was for a Praktica bayonet, so I hunted down a decent body, here in the UK they go for dirty cheap, even £10 or less, I settled down with a Jenaflex that is a rebadged BC-1. I found out these DDR lenses give the most astonishing colour without warming filters ( I usually use them for colour pics) and I am assembling a small kit: Does anybody know if they also make something similar in L39 mount? I would like to get a lens for my Leicas that gives this kind of performance, the Flek is not razor sharp but it is amazing because it has no distortion, and the Pancolar 50 mm f1.4 is one of the best f1.4 I've ever tried. Other two samples: Flek wide open, I felt I was getting SUCKED inside the rose. Pancolar...perhaps I should have focused on the central flower but I felt I was getting "creative". Now, anybody has experience with the CZJ Sonnar 1.5 or 2.0 in L39?
