Orphan photos.

Found exposed film in an old Minox cassette I purchased for reloading. Cassette was labeled as TriX. It looks like an effort to document a community effort to build a playground. Clothing suggests 1970s. No American male has dressed in shorts like that since the 70s. :)

An Ape by Piaggio is always a great ride! Cool shot!

The Apes are great, they always brought a bit smile to my face when the puttered by in Gaeta. I remember one guy, who had his loaded down with beach souvenirs, that could barely make it up one of the hills.

Fantastic, Phil.  The pots in the closet add a lot.  Great colors, as well.

Thirty years ago I took this photo, with their kind permission, of this pot seller and his son. Now I wonder if the son is the proprietor of the shop?

Very good, Edward.  The contrast and colors you obtained from the Portra 800 are interesting - very much unlike what I get.  It's interesting to see equally lovely yet different results from the same film with different development workflows.

Can't read without glasses.

M3, 75mm summilux

Note:  The 75mm summilux is a champion - and quite possibly THE champion at capturing shadow detail and midtones, as any great portrait lens should.  The film reacted very well to this by retaining the wonderful deep blacks but also allowing very meaningful opening of the blacks, as desired.  It almost turns into a super-powered low grain Tri-X.

Hello Wayne,

Nice photos.

I think that those are "Tilley" shorts.

I am pretty sure that you can still buy them today.

Best Regards,

Michael

Great find, Wayne. From what you say, those shorts should become fashionable in Australia about this summer. Might have to get myself a pair - although if what Michael says is right - $119! - maybe not!

Bermudas! For that price you could have two or three fine pair of Bermuda shorts.......Especially if you go for the black socks.  ; 0

They’re still somewhat popular, at least in the south. They’re mostly used by old farmers or fruit/greens sellers in the streets.

Adam,

I would say you've cached the right moment. I love this one.

I stood next to this gentleman today and we ended talking about Leonard Cohen whose freshly painted 10 storeys high mural we both had silently been admiring seconds earlier. ( Leonard Cohen passed away last year and the city funded a big mural in the neighbourhood where he lived )

It turns out our friend and Leonard were neighbours ( we all live in Montreal ) and he misses him dearly.

I asked him if i can take his portrait. He politely agreed.

Shot with Olympus PENFT half frame and Zuiko 42mm 1.2

sixteen, what a nice story behind the photo and btw a very nice portrait.

Best
