gbealnz Posted October 4, 2017 Share #40550 Posted October 4, 2017 Gary, I reckon that Mountain Parrot is well Mounted! Interestingly I heard recently that their numbers are dwindling to the extent that they could become extinct? Mind you anyone who has come back to their car parked in the hills and experienced their handiwork will be pleased. Very clever and effective at dismantling shiny car parts, as well as window rubbers. Gary

Popular Post Fotoklaus Posted October 4, 2017 Popular Post Share #40552 Posted October 4, 2017 Hi Christoph - many thanks for your comments and thank you for the heads up on the Ferrania P30 I will give it a try when I can get some. I think what it is with the Fomapan films is that they are "old school" and do seem to give a lovely (to me at least) good rich blacks and bold tones. I'm no expert on emulsions etc but I have heard that this is because they are more silver rich than modern films. I could of course be wrong here so others more knowledgeable might be able to add to it. Just for the record I have always settled on D76 as my developer and when I used TRI-X almost exclusively I always diluted it 1+1 but of late I have moved away from TRI-X as it's become so expensive in 30m rolls that I always use, so I have now started using it stock with Fomapan films as it gives a bit finer grain used undiluted. I have a few 30m rolls still in my freezer of the original Agfa APX 100 which is another favourite film of mine which I think again gives really nice punchy blacks and tones in the negative's when developed in D76. I have tried it in Rodinal but I find although nice and sharp it's a bit grainy for scanning but fine on enlarger prints. Take care Paul Mac Hi, here is a sample from APX100 original, developed in Rodinal 1:25, 8 Minutes at 20°C. Rodinal is not that grainy, when used at 20°C or below. The warmer it gets, the more grain you have. But the APX works fine with D76 anyway. Welcome, dear visitor!
