I have to ask where this was taken? As I suspect it may have been just down the road from my house!

Sunnyhurst wood Darwen. Before there was a land slip and part of it, including this bit, was closed off while United Utilities try to shore up the out fall from the reservoir.

Thanks, Mark.  I really appreciate the feedback.

This is a very beautiful photograph Neil. If in colour it could be an impressionist painting.

Thanks, Ian.  I agree that perhaps 16x9 isn't the perfect crop aspect ratio as it doesn't provide optimal gradation in the sky.  I will noodle on this but a little but more...

I usually prefer uncropped no matter what the format but in this case maybe somewhere in between? Perhaps 3:2 or 7:5 rather than 16:9?

Thanks, Neil.

I think the square looks better. Put a nice 4" white border on it with a nice frame and hang it on a wall

Neil

Wow, love this first one.  The colors are so vibrant and unusual!

Thanks very much for your opinion - it is very valuable!

Hi Adam - I prefer the cooler colours of the Provia for this scene.  I'm going back and forth between the cropped and un-cropped versions, but am leaning towards the 16x9.  Of course, all three versions are excellent.

I shot my first roll of Portra 800 last week, I think I need more practice to nail my exposures for night time shooting.

this is fantastic.  I am so impressed that the portra is resisting going orange from the street lights.  Definitely food for thought on my end...   Love the red!
