This is a really nice picture.

We have not only a nice picture, but a reminder of the beautiful architecture of these places.

Merci Michel :)

I listen there many years ago one cantate of Jean Sebastian Bach

with Chorale , its sublime and unforgettable :)

Best

Thank you for the kind words! The decision to buy a Minilux payed out for me, it is a nice companion and with me now on many occasions. I will probably take it on a planned road trip through the Netherlands, Belgium and France from next week on as my only camera. If anyone of you happens to be in the area, please feel free to drop me a note via PM, maybe we have the chance for a small chat or a brief photo walk. I have no fixed plans at the moment. My son and I will see where to go to from day to day. We will start in Düsseldorf and move on to the Netherlands first. We will then most likely travel south at the coast - maybe we can make it to Le Mont-Saint-Michel.

Here just another picture from the center of german politics:

Henry, Corbusier made the master plan for the city and also designed a few of the principal buildings notably the Palace of Assembly, the High Court, the Open Hand monument, the Secretariat. He used the exposed brick and concrete style as a theme throughout the city. The laws governing building façades are still very rigid here.

The building in this picture bears the hallmarks of Corbusier's style although he did not himself design it. Sector 17 was the commercial hub of the city during the 60s, 70s and 80s and was always abuzz with folks in their Sunday best. If you were going out, that's where you went. Now it seems eerily quiet.

Grand Canal, Venice, from the Rialto bridge. It interests me that there are no modern boats visible, a rare event on this part of the canal. This picture could have been made at almost any time. XP2. 50mm.

Indeed, this could be a painting from the 1600's!

What happened on the 12th floor? Was it flooded during an extra terrestrial encounter?

Ha! The shiny patch isn't water, but marble tiles leading to elevators and a lounge off to the left. Pippa was moderately co-operative when I sent her down the corridor with instructions to become an X-woman.
