Steve Ricoh Posted July 19, 2017 Share #36484 Posted July 19, 2017 Yashica Mat 124G, Tmax 400, HC110: Untitled by Brendan | Toews, on Flickr Another great photograph with fantastic composition! I follow your work both here and on Flickr and I'm finding it a helpful guide to 'tune' my own vision (without copying you of course). I now firmly believe that I walk past many opportunities when I'm out, and that I need to open my eyes more to 'see' photographically. Please post more of your excellent images.

I agree with Steve Great eyes for catching "at the right moment" à la manière de Henri Cartier Bresson It's difficult , very difficult IMO to do that ... great patience needed too ! Great work , and in film it's better I think Brendan must print some of his masterpieces pictures , framed and hanged on wall Best Henry

schattenundlicht Posted July 19, 2017 Share #36489 Posted July 19, 2017 (edited) [...] You don't need lightmeter like my M7 Contrast, definition, black and grey tones are superb . It's perfect Henry Thanks for the kind comment! To be honest, my first ever serious camera, a spared-from-mouth Pentax MX in the 1970ies was manual but had a meter with a traffic-light LED exposure indicator. Thus for me it is not truly "back to the roots", since I was raised in Silicium soil ;-) I do tend to get good results with exposure estimation in daylight, but then, everybody does. In difficult and/or low light situations I confess to being quite glad of my M7 with it's very reliable metering. So the very long focal length captures the train motion when they are very far away and when the platform has not yet started to shake. The compression effect is also nice...imo Great pictures and color Adam. Doc Henry Posted July 19, 2017 Author Share #36495 Posted July 19, 2017 (edited) Henri Cartier Bresson (HCB) inspires many of my pictures in Paris It's very hard to obtain the quality and the inspiration of this great man. Most of his pictures are in b&w Here some modest pictures during my several balads in Paris . HCB has taken mostly street photos in Paris in the 1950's (look at his book "de qui s'agit il" ?
