I wonder how these buildings or houses can stand, given the old age.

Nice red bricks in film and no moiré on electric cables and iron balustrades

I'll post after this post an example !

Christoph, this is superb. You made an excellent choice in using the IR film for these tattoo portraits - the contrast is really striking and makes a bold portrait, sympathetic to the subjects.

Thanks Adam, this is really cool. Are they real people or mannequins of some sort? Very eery somehow, like a lit de parade of sorts  :o

I dedicate this one to Philip for his love of reflections.

Beautiful colors and contrast, Phil.

Some russet from England's Lake District:

Canon A1, FD 135mm f2.5 SC, Kodak Portra 160VC

Thanks, Richard!

Love the subtletly (and serenity) of this one Adam.

Wow Phil, this is like the whole alphabet of Russet in one go, cracking colour and shadow.

Thanks, Christoph!

Very nice. I particularly like the subtle colours, and the different layers in the foreground.

Thanks, Gregor.  This was taken just after sunset and I believe the exposure was b/n 90-120 seconds.

Adam,

wow ... outstanding, really great. I am very impressed ... Did you take this picture in morning or in the evening? Do you remember how long you exposed?

Best

Gregor

Thanks, Philip.  This was actually a video art display inside of a gallery on the other side of the window.  The display featured a woman in stages sleeping and then rising from bed.  People thought I was very weird for sticking my camera in the window in the middle of 23rd street like that!

Thanks Adam, this is really cool. Are they real people or mannequins of some sort? Very eery somehow, like a lit de parade of sorts  :o

This one is from a day with extra flat lighting. I'm so used to our super high contrast Sydney scenes, I struggle a bit with how to proceed when the shadows go missing.

Very nice b&w picture

Beautiful colors and contrast, Phil.

Thank you most kindly, Adam. This picture reminds me how much I really miss that soft Northern English light - even when it is contrasty as in this picture, it is not harsh - not like our Australian light at all.

This is from the exact same location - same camera and film, but with a wide-angle lens:

For Steve Walton, who can add  "think cool" to his "think warmth" spiel about when to use Ektar :)

Steve - perhaps you can now charge double for your workshops, since people can apply your advice not only to warm but also cool situations? ;)

Blue Hour
