Wonderful b&w picture Christoph

Free to imagination.  It is art and in film it is a plus :)

Thanks

Henry

PS:  May be this year , I'll meet Gary and also Philip in Bruxelles , I think for a shooting moment

Let's hope so Henry, and you can be sure we will document it on film.

Phil very well framing . A great and nice picture in b&w

The black is really superb , contrasting with a superb white

The grain of film gives a plus for this white wall in foreground

Thanks

Henry

Phil nice perspective and superb picture

I never use film Rollei 100 but Its seems very nice

Is't  the opera of Sydney ?

Thanks

Henry

Thank you two times Henry!

Yes, as Gary very kindly and correctly points out, my title describes the way an Antipodean might pronounce the name of the "Sydney Opera House". That Rollei Retro film was stunningly beautiful, like the old Agfapan 100.

Thank you Coogee. Please do return to that spot for more pictures. I'm not sure if she's finished with the bottle at the base of her plynth yet, but I'd be tempted to get rid of that. Why wait for a badly dressed person? Perhaps a nudist will stroll past?

The R body was just too heavy to carry around compared to my M. It didn't help I suppose that my favorite lens for it was a 35mm Summilux, itself a heavy beast, so the combination was kind of ridiculous. I didn't particularly mind seeing the world through orange, but I do prefer the Messsucher view (I had to look that up!).

I left the bottle purposefully, I liked to think it was hers but maybe next time perhaps not.

I'd guess I'm not the only one among us who waits (im)patiently by a nice composition for the subject to arrive - but so often they cancel at the last minute.

I'll hope for that nudist, or a unkempt nun or something, though the odds are high that I'll get a jogger or a mobile phone zombie!

The R 35mm Summilux does look rather large. I was lucky that R Summicrons were what I encountered first and to me were so perfect I've never seen the need to dig deeper. It's only recently I realised that there even was a 50mm Summilux-R and with multiple versions.

The bottle probably is hers, thinking about it in retrospect. She looks as if she's plastered.

Yes, waiting for the right person (or persons) to pass by can be fraught with frustration, and i think we've probably all experienced it. Sometimes it happens in serendipitous ways and this is what makes a great photograph - Adam's snow series are great examples of that. The mobile phone zombies are certainly everywhere but rarely very photogenic - there is something about the practice that seems to negate good photographs. But an unkempt nun ("nunkempt"?) as you suggest would be good, or even better a nude one. Or maybe not.

Love that purple and the use of sunglasses in the dark morning blizzard.... :)

M7, 28mm elmarit pre-asph, Portra 400

Now this is where your flash works to advantage Adam (you know my bias against obvious flash). This whole composition smacks of 'celeb, filmstar, etc,' just posing for promo shots. The flash gives her the dominance that I usually don't like. She is playing beautifully to the camera. Great promo image.

Shades, just for the flash.

Only in New York :)

Another great shot Adam, the snowflakes just ripping through the frame.

Fun stuff guys, thanks.

Erl - she sure acted like a celeb when I tried to pose her after ambushing her (I spotted her from across the street).  She wouldn't have any of me and walked away, although she talked nicely to me as she walked away as if she really wanted to be shot again... :)  Fun times...

OK thanks a heap Adam - that just shoots down in flames the point I made that Mobile Phone Zombies (MPZs) do not make great subjects for photographs. Grrr!

:D  :D
