My most favorite thing about this thread is that you don't have to give your photos a title :D

Adam, I like your photos that reflect the "daring" side , shooting at "the decisive moment" (HC Bresson)

with your M3 how you choose the speed of exposure ? you choose before your aperture ?

finally your M-A fits you perfectly :)

Hi Henry - thanks very much. Not sure what you mean here?

Hi Adam, I mean how you work :)

First you choose your diaphragm example , for your last photo, f: 5.6 or 4

then based on this diaphragm you selected after exposure for example 1/60

isn't ?

It depends entirely on what i am shooting (an to a large extent, the focal length i am using) as to whether a shot is driven by shutter or aperture. Here, i pushed the tri x to 1250 and exposed at 800. Probably used between f4 and f5.6 and between 1/1000 and 1/500, respectively. Given the importance of a fast shutter, i find the sweet spot of this lens to be within this aperture range for a scene like this. The background is visible enough and has a certain compression to it that i find very pleasing. I am a big fan of this lens.

New supplies just arrived - fresh food for hungry mouths! (admittedly they will be going into the freezer while I use up older stock).

I just had to question myself on this very point. I suppose I'm an "aperture first" guy, so set aperture and (with my M6) see how the metering deals with it. Getting a bit better now, because the metering is most often only a stop away. (Sigh). So much to learn...

Lovely photograph, especially the dappled sunlight through the foliage.
