Cristoph - This is only the second roll of Fomapan 200 that I have used (from a box of 5) and I doubt that I will be buying any more.  What I do not like with the 200 is the grain in featureless areas such as the sky - they appear to be quite noisy.  On the other hand, in more complex and varying images such as the one below (Rolleicord Vb + yellow filter), the results can be more to my liking.  The '200' designation does seem optimistic.  For the above landscapes I had a yellow/green filter (filter factor +2) so had my meter set to ISO 100 to compensate.  The negatives look to be underexposed by between half a stop and a full stop.  Development was in Rodinal 1:50 for ten minutes as per Massive Dev database.

It will be interesting to see how Fomapan 100 performs - I have five rolls waiting to be used...

OMG, that's a wonderful sight. Partly the light, partly the location, partly the gear, and lottsa the photographer.

Here's another perspective from the Empire State Building...during the onset of the sunrise

Besides the Chrysler Building, among the other landmarks are the tall black 80-story Trump residential tower (across the street from the UN, the Queensborough bridge,  La Guardia Airport in the not too far distance (can see the control tower very clearly) and the Throg's Neck Bridge (connecting Long Island and the Bronx) in the distant background.

Was able to sneak in an ND grad filter to retain some of the red glow of the clouds from the sunset

503cw, 250mm Superachromat and Kodak Ektar

Thanks a lot, Gary.  The view could potentially be considered as from your "office" :)

It's a terrific shot Adam. There's such a myriad of details in the buildings. Well executed too with the grad filter. It gives a nice continuity from foreground to background in terms of light and details.

Stunning, simply stunning - & well worthy of inclusion in your next book...   ;)  Given the long-lens compression, the clarity of the atmosphere over a major city (& one that 'never sleeps') surprises me.  What are the four towers on the far skyline?

What are the four columns on the horizon, Adam – chimneys of a power station or something else?

(Edit: Keith is asking the same thing).

Another from Sunday's walk along Tan Hill Way on the Marlborough Downs.  Hasselblad 500c, Fomapan 200, Rodinal.

Sincere thanks, Gentlemen.

Keith/Ian - very funny you ask :). According to my Google Maps app, the four columns in the far distance appear to be the Northport Power Station, which is a natural gas and conventional oil electric power generating station located in the north shore area of Long Island. You will be interested to know that this power station is operated by National Grid plc, which is a UK headquartered company. Incidentally, National Grid plc also operated the Ravenswood power plant in the middle of the image just beyond the Queensborough Bridge until 2008 when it transferred operating responsibility to the TransCanada Corporation.
