With all respect, Steve, those classes, if they are worth anything at all, they are valuable in gaining insights for you to reflect on retooling your shooting perspective, not to arm you to pontificate on others styles and perogatives.

You say so, so it must be truth.

Guys, take it outside.

Right on, Philip. :)

Here's one from Central Park from last winter...

Tri-X, polarizing filter (which in hindsight was a grave mistake for most of my shots from that morning), SWC

I like the little highlight of reflected sunlight off the ice from under the bridge on the left side, Adam. Was there much more glare polarizer-less at the time?

The straight lines of the distant buildings are impressive, as are the textures coming through in the ice.

I don't think the polarizing filter is a mistake, I like the star like rays from the sun. Otherwise you can get a blob

Thanks a lot.

My reason for staying away from PLs on an early cloudless morning is that, unless one is shooting directly due west (I was shooting pretty much south), the tones of the sky are uneven and the PL accentuates this.

I was going to ask why Adam, but I see you've explained it.

From my old colour film days I understand the implications of polarizers in various sections of the sky, but didn't see any issues with your shot. We're there some, did you crop off the sky area?

Thanks Adam...the first shot is one of my favorites of the roll.  One of those instances where everything works and comes out as you envisioned it.   Everyone was shooting the same stock photo on web;  even though the small path leads you right to this shot which I feel is what the artist was after as you approached the scene.

What I have found is that a lot of the Ektar pictures have this really dark margaritas cast in the shadows and I have no idea how to get rid of it. The one below is another example of this around the front of the matt...............is it something I did wrong or is it just a issue with this particular film?????

Any help or advise would be much appreceated
