A place I recall fondly, as kids we spent virtually every free day here, dad built a bach (modest holiday home) near the top of the inlet, and we boated, swam, fished, and generally whiled the days away, a great childhood.

wow, really awesome photo, Gary.  I love aerial views like this.

Thanks Adam, it is something akin to the series you shot from your "office" ages ago now, this was from mine.

No door, summers day, student flying, so less to do apart from monitor. Good time to shoot some aerials.

My Dad, a couple of hours before he decided to cross the final Rubicon (Portra 400)...

That would be one of the hardest images to make, but subsequently one of the most valuable. It displays love and companionship better than any words. A family treasure.

Thanks for writing this, couldn't have written it better myself

It is always extremely difficult moments in the life as someone who is dear to us , leaves us.

We will not have the opportunity to see him again , to exchange conversations , ask for advice...

I have often attended these difficult times in my career and I fully understand what feels and meant

Eoin and also that said Erl and Steve.

Eoin sincere thank you for sharing this photo which will remain in memory for all.

We are with you !

Best regards

Henry

Nice one, Gary. I used to work in the apple orchards of Motueka, just around the corner from there.

Thank you, All, although actually using the camera made it easier, as photography was one of his great loves. It was a beautiful, rather than sad moment, and I am grateful for that.

This is from a film I just got developed. It is Agfa Ultra 50, and I shot it 22 years ago, and never got around to developing it. The exposed film has been hot, and cold, and in darkness, and bright light. Robust stuff!
