Since Doc Henry didn't Ok the posting of a digital image on this thread, I went ahead and posted it under Photo Forum\People\Elmar portrait.  It was taken with a 1951 90mm Elmar, and it has that 50s look, despite it being a digital photo on a recent camera.

Fin you can post here for comparison , it's more interesting.

IMO color skin is not the same a bit magenta in digit but I do not have the two

pictures together to compare. :)  If you can , post here both for comparison. Thanks

Best

H.

Here is a close up of a 2000+ year old limestone segment of the Western Wall, with the prayer notes nestled in the cracks.

Velvia 50

(pushed 1/2 stop b/c I belated discovered that I had been underexposing the Velvia 50 in my first batch, which had the effect of turbo charging an already contrasty film :o )

Adam the definition is really superb. When you underexposed you also increase the contrast no ?

Nice color too. I like the pieces of paper in the rocks . We can also see the traces of graver on the rocks.

Thanks Adam for your comment about Canal picture :)

Love this one, James. Looks like you have fun with that old camera :)

Nice pictures  James and with your IIIc +TX it's a must  :)

Thanks

Henry

The combo IIIc+Summitar+Tri-X is truly rewarding. The viewfinder is a bit awkward but the compact size and the reliable functionality of this camera make it great fun :)

I love the worn quality of the stones as well: touched by so many hands and heads.

The Keukenhof Garden in South Holland are the most wonderfully over-the-top display of tulips and other bulbs.

Here I used Portra 160 and Apo-Summicron-m f2/75 (I am almost sure! It could have been a 50mm Summicron.) Leica M-A.

Further to the discussions about Hasselblad 40mm vs SWC a few pages back. I went the route of getting the latest 40mm cfe if only because I happened upon one at a bargain price. I have only taken one shot with it so far, I should try to think of some more wide angle opportunities. Ilford HP5+, 503cw, handheld

Thank you, Henry.  Yes the underexposure alone increased the color saturation (I notice this with the velvia and provia as a result of the bracketing that I do, with even with half stop increments) and the push processing increased the contrast.  I have a few more photos like this of various scenes that I will be sharing.

Thank you very much!  And yes, I share your appreciation of what these stones have seen, and how they were first laid probably on the back of a camel or mule under the direction of Kind Herod...

Wonderful floral color palette, congrats!

A Hasselblad is perhaps not the most inconspicuous spy camera...

ha, ha, I was expecting a beautiful mysterious-looking spy-worthy female; but I give it to you on the execution! :)

Wonderful, Rob.  You did the right thing with the 40mm.  One could quibble with the difference in optical quality but if you already have a Hassy system it makes some sense to go for the 40mm.  Can't go wrong with it and you've demonstrated this.  And it is also impressive how you were able to get a crisp shot not only indoors but handheld.  You've also given me a photo op idea for my next trip to London. :)

The British Museum is a great place to take photographs. In the winter it is warm and dry. The classical sections are full of Egyptian, Greek and Roman statues which make excellent subjects for portraits - they only move after the museum has closed for the night, so you can really try out new ideas... Some have even forgotten to get dressed.  :o
