Thanks for watching and commenting :)

The sensitivity of film  in contre jour is outstanding !

Film supports a dynamic of light superior than sensor of my M9

Notice the details of waves in the foreground and the various plans in background !

Henry

* another day , another place near Quang Nam some few kilometers to South , this detail for Eoin :)

This one is my favourite, Henry - Thank you.

It has been a while since I last took a survey on some photos.  So hopefully my welcome is no longer worn out :)

Here are four photos of a sunrise in the (oily) dead sea.  Two are with Ektar and two are with Provia 100F.  They are four different exposures taken at different points in the minutes before sunrise.  Any and all feedback including which you prefer (if any) are most welcome.  Thank you!

Nah, still can't decide. I had "3rd one" as the fave, but each time I go back and forth, man, can't do it.

Throw a dart, they're all exceptional.

The first I love because of the oiliness.

The fourth has a rich sky, and the third has a bit of both.

Too hard.

I love em all Adam.

Could I be a pain and suggest a compilation of the four all on the one "page/post" so they can all be seen at the same time, albeit smaller?

Thanks a lot gor your tome, Gary. I really appreciate it! I agree that all in one post would make an easier review. But this time i dont want to burden the thread with a repeat. I will keep this in mind next time, though.

First development, as in "I'm looking to get into the darkroom side of things" from a recent post?

If so, looks great, really great, well done Marc.

ok, Chris.  Now hold on a second.  I thought you were going to give the focus screen + prism finder a fair shake?  What the hell kind of fair shake is this? First a shlocky filthy GG and then you attach it to a prism that puts the image upside down, totally ignoring my suggestion to get the rmfx prism that puts it right side up???  Now I am going to have to roll out some of my close up macro photos, which you are NOT going to get from 12" away with your 8x10 !!

I have two Hasselblad prisms, and can't really be buying a third. At least my ground glass is now perfectly clean (bet yours isn't! ;) )

I will try it. I have a film loaded and ready to go. I might get out tomorrow but I have to wait for someone to come and collect their charts. We'll see. It's after midnight and I have just finished installing Sierra. Perhaps tomorrow I shall feel energetic and full of vim and vigour.

BTW, the first Provia shot is the easy winner for me. It's very, very good. I don't think I will ever make such a picture with the SWC.

Thanks Gary, I really appreciate the kind words.  Yes, I've started to recognize the variability in the processing I've received recently and figured it was time to take some control.  I was paying too much for poor results; the other part was a personal challenge to see what I'm able to do.  I'm scanning in the rest of the roll, hopefully a few more to come.
