But surely there's not much to pack, just the M7, a 50mm lens and 100 rolls of film? We look forward to your photos upon your return. In the meantime we'll be aiming for page 2000 before you're back. best Philip I am on the day before departure, and I have not prepared my suitcase .I know I am unwise ... EoinC Posted August 19, 2016 Share #20166 Posted August 19, 2016 Good lord, this is nice tonality! Well done. Chris Thanks, Chris, although there was no skill involved, and I was decidedly un-careful in handling the negative - It was largely just to see how the film behaves. I'll see if I can do some more tomorrow.
Keith (M) Posted August 19, 2016 Share #20167 Posted August 19, 2016 Advertisement (gone after registration) My, my - this thread really does proceed apace, doesn't it! Managed to get out earlier this week with my GW690II and fire off a roll of Acros 100 (well, it is only eight frames!). A late-summer scene - cutting the watermeadow. Welcome, dear visitor! Keith (M) Posted August 19, 2016 Share #20169 Posted August 19, 2016 At the water's edge. Messy - yes. Unstructured - yes. It was the lighting and tonal gradation possibilities that caught my eye. Same camera & film as #20303. Welcome, dear visitor! honcho Posted August 19, 2016 Share #20171 Posted August 19, 2016 Kinder Scout was probably the first hill I ever climbed as a young boy and I've visited it regularly for over 5 decades. It's still one of my favourite UK hill walks. There has been a lot of restoration work on the top in the past couple of years with heather brash and grass seed dropped by helicopter. The nature of the landscape up there is changing again, the grasses and heather have taken hold to stabilise the peat, and ultimately replenish what is left of it, and the plateau is now even more like a swamp. Most of the groughs are now continually full of water since they have been dammed to prevent more of the peat being washed away. Having watched the work progess, it has been a massive task that seems to be paying off. This is Kinder Downfall where the Kinder river drops over the western edge of the plateau, a popular lunch stop for walkers on those few days when it isn't too cold and windy to hang around. gbealnz Posted August 19, 2016 Share #20176 Posted August 19, 2016 Excellent, Gary. I'm guessing you know some of the pilots from the deer-hunting days. Several of them ended up over in Papua New Guinea with us doing long-lining. I do Eoin, more than a few. Many didn't make it though, it was an "interesting" time.
