Makes perfect sense, Neil.  But according to your description it seemed that you were shooting the GOLD line of Kodak film and not the PORTRA line.  To me, it doesn't make sense to shoot with the GOLD line.  But it makes a lot of sense to shoot PORTRA, especially as a good "getting your feet wet" film.

I don't know the science behind this but it happens to me, too.  My intuition is that is has something to do with how fast you turn the advance shutter when you advance the film.  But I have nothing to back this up

Some infos about the uneven spacing on A12 backs:

Part of owning a Hasselblad V series is that these cameras and backs require periodical servicing. Uneven frame spacing means that the back either needs servicing or the film insert and shell are incorrectly matched.  Check the serial numbers on both insert and shell, they should correspond.

I just developed yesterday night , one roll of Kodak TX, really I like the grain of this film

"Black is a real black" , a deep black and "white is real white" in comparison with digital !

I understand now why Leica offers one roll of Kodak TX with a purchase of the M-A camera

Leica has chosen well :)

I had the chance to shoot Leion who is also from China studying here in KL. We really wanted to go out and shoot location kind of shots but the weather let us down so ended up shooting in the studio. After lunch I shot two rolls with her at Lake garden but it was hot and sticky (weather not me) but we plan to go out again next time home for some early morning location shooting...... :) :)

TMAX 400

This one too , well framing and superb model N.

Reflection of a madman  ?

... more I shoot more I find that the film should regain its place among the "real" picture.

It has an undeniable artistic side. I do not understand that digital could invade like this
the photo market. The longer it goes the more I love the film and digital remains very

secondary for me, at the limit does not exist for me .... except I need the pictures right away :)

the main reason... and I can also do that with an iPhone or my iPad cheaper
