Very beautiful, Fotomas. It’s not just the ‘larger piece of film’ behind the lens, but also your eye for things that makes them speak and tell us about their lives.

Great composition Phil, really well done. I imagine you darting across the lawn to find the perfect frame.

Of the images you've shown today from your travels in Europe, Phil, I like this one the best. Although, when I look at the others again, I’m not sure if I’ll still feel the same tomorrow, they are all winners.

1980 really does seem to have been a very inspiring year in your life.

Thank you very much Klaus. It was taken in an old factory, that was finally shut down. But it was left as the people had just gone for lunch. Everything was still in place.  It was a fascinating place.

Thank you so much Klaus. You are quite right. Back in 1980 I was working a good job in a multinational, had a steady girlfriend and had completed my photography studies. Then one lunchtime I somehow found myself in a travel agency and with no prior consideration ended up buying a one-way ticket to London. And it all changed. It was indeed an inspiring year and gave me a whole new (I think better) perspective on life. I think we all have "eureka" moments that lead us onto paths we'd not otherwise have followed - this was my big one.

My photography friend Werner whispers something into the ear of the bull in front of the Frankfurt Stock Exchange. What could that be? Frankfurt, Germany.
