Very nice portrait Marc, perfect focus, charming model, great grays....and the ortho-panchromatic Acros is helpful to show off the nice freckles. As you know there is a caveat: in a less perfect skin, not only the freckles , but also the blemishes are enhanced....

I love the Acros too--it has a quality which is difficult to describe. Maybe it´s the convergence of the grain shape, the curve and the spectral sensitivity. It´s a pity that it´s so expensive.

Thanks a lot for your encouraging comments Klaus! I agree with you, the Acros is really a very special film, I like it a lot. But unfortunately the price for this film (and for the other films too) is insane…

I know the pain and the agonizing over what to take.. I´m just back from my summer holidays and was very proud to decide for just one MF--the TLR Rolleiflex. Very liberating. No extra lenses, no extra backs. That's what I decided, but then, on arriving I found that  the SWC  had somehow sneaked into the bag....

About your 6008 kit-undoubtedly among the best you could possibly buy. I was circling around that  system for quite a while but in the end decided against it for the same reasons you quote. Embarking on that journey you'll need a sherpa at some point.

But in the Leica-M world similar dangers lurk. I´m just pondering about my scudera: wouldn't a  set of 35, 50 and perhaps 90mm be just enough.... ?  Imagine the Zen-like simplicity in your drawer..... but then... a 28 or 24 or 21 is  needed sometimes, isn't it ?

Then there is the theory that if you have a comprehensive set of lenses, you can call on just the one you think you'll require for a particular outing.

That's when the "what ifs" start - and of course you end up with a full bag as usual.

Regarding the 6008i, if one had a studio and was using film professionally, I could not think of a better system. A more intelligently designed system for that sort of work I could not imagine - the images it so effortlessly produces are spectacular. To take it out in the field for serious or semi-serious work, though, you would certainly need the proverbial Sherpa as you suggest - which you would probably have in order to set up lights etc.

!!! Attention !!!     This is not intended for the purists among the film photography lovers, as I processed the original color slide in Adobe Lightroom and tweaked it to my liking!

Great, I like seeing things I might not see, instead of things that are far too obvious.

Powerfully graphic and enigmatic.

The beauty of any group of people with a common interest (let’s say in this instance “film photography”) is that the members of that group may have vastly different approaches even within the parameters of the group. I’m not actually sure what constitutes a “purist among film photography lovers” but I do strongly appreciate the many different ways we see in this thread film is used to create art or, if you like, striking and inspiring pictures. Yours is a great example, as are the others just on this page alone.

Thank you for this thoughtful remark! My disclaimer wasn’t meant too serious, but I know that there are some members (“the purists”) who do not like post processed analogue material. I try to get the best out of my negatives and mostly apply only minor changes in contrasts or exposure, but sometimes I play with the files a bit longer and stronger. I think this is what many photographers did and do in the darkroom repeatedly.

Hurriquake sounds like very creative California-speak, since we had our first hurricane last week, but I took this shot some years back on the north shore of Kauai. I was visiting Poipu, Kauai when the fires hit Maui, but all we had was high wind and big surf.

I like the color details. Maybe it's the combination of the 50 APO and the ADOX Mission.

My 50 APO is a favorite, but for this one I used the limited edition black chrome Summilux-M 50 and purposely blurred with slow shutter speed and camera movement, not having a clue how the ADOX Color Implosion was going to turn out.

Totally supersonic, especially the details and forced perspective.
