A new philosophy on loading Paterson developing tanks:

When placing components of the Paterson developing tank in your dark bag, do not include the light-tight outermost lid. If this outermost lid is available to you in the dark bag, you might snap it into place, completely forgetting that you neglected to install the inner tank lid. You will, of course, be reminded of this when you pull off the outer lid to add developer to your now over-exposed film. :)

Thanks for the kind words Klaus.   I agree 😀, I was able to acquire some nice examples over the last few years with each of the different Tessars.  They are wonderful cameras and render some fantastic images; I'm a Tessar fan and a Rollei fan...Leica too :)   I had them all brought back to shooting condition; replaced the mirrors (kept the originals).  I have a set of Proxars which makes for interesting visuals and fun shooting.

Marc, congratulations on your collection. Even more since you brought them back to life and use them to such an impressive result as in

I own two of them, a late Rolleicord with a 3,5 Xenar lens and a late Rolleiflex 3,5 Planar. Both are lovely to use and something very special.

...     It's a nice coincidence that your Rolleis started their life in Braunschweig, Lower Saxony  and are now well and safe in New Brunswick, NJ... 😃

Might I add...

To avoid another potential "Oops!" moment when using a multi-spiral Paterson tank to develop a single roll of film, remember to ensure that the spiral with the film is installed at the lower-most position so as to be submerged in the developer and subsequent stop and fix fluids.

I stuffed up recently, so...

portra 800

I bought a dozen or so rolls of Portra 800 a while back because I really like what I see coming from other photographers with this film stock. This marvelous photo reminds me to start using it.  Thanks.
