Keith (M) Posted August 13, 2017 Share #38241 Posted August 13, 2017 Advertisement (gone after registration) Well, after a series of Portra 160 uploads, it is back to b&w. A 90mm Elmarit-R joined the R5 armoury yesterday morning, so the afternoon was spent firing off a roll of Neopan 400 (my last one!) in the nearby town of Cricklade. 1) Ooh, don't be so aloof - gimme a kiss - look, I even brought you some carrots! 2) British Telecoms new Premier Lounge 3) Angles of Time PS - Delighted with the performance of the 90mm Elmarit-R - superbly sharp. Cannot say the same for me this morning - put the film canister & tank etc in the changing bag and was halfway through loading the film onto the reel when I saw that I had forgotten to close the outer zip - doh! I followed this up by getting the dev time wrong by giving the film nine minutes instead of ten - another doh! Great sigh of relief when I pull the wet negs off the reel - they looked OK. Phew!

The texture of apples are very nice with grains of film TX Thank you Henry That was the Summicron 90 at closest distance, around 0.7m. Just to compare when converting color > b&w , you lose or not details specially in the shadows ... and in addition , when you convert you need another step of one digitalization (LR or SE) .... Finally I am right to have 2 cameras one for color and one for b&w Thanks for your comment Dan ...do you like now black version or both ? Best Henry I'm not so averse to converting colour to B&W, and considering the lengths people have gone to in the darkroom with alternative processes and toning, I think one could make a decent case that analogue workflow has often involved some black magic to transform what was on the film into something rather different! All my investment for my dose of caffein each day after my Leica analog and vacuum amplifier Coffee is from my roaster ... not Clooney coffee please L1017491m8caflfht+++1000.jpg M8-28 Summicron Asph Also taken with my MP and M7 not developed yet Regards Henry Here's my wonderful coffee machine - a Saeco Vienna Plus. Whole beans and water go in the top, and the best coffee I've ever had comes out at the bottom. The kettle and teapot belong to Pippa, who actually prefers that dreadful stuff.
