Phil,

Adding to the other comments I particularly like the perfect balance of grey tones in this picture - like a painting. And the sharpness / accuracy is, I believe, typical for this lens.

PS: this thread is moving at the speed of light, it is almost impossible to keep up and comment on all that is comment-worthy... Luckily I manage at least to keep watching the contributions.

Thank you very much, Christoph. I must admit I was drawn to the mysteriousness of the graphic when taken out of context, and the interplay of greys.

Yes, this thread moves at a frenetic pace! It is quite difficult to keep up, but I hate missing anything posted here - the work is so wonderful, and constantly affirms the richness and beauty of film photography.

Just dusted off from it's shelf life. A long time out of use but that's all about to change.

Contax RX, 25mm f2.8 Distagon, 50mm f1.4 Planar, 85mm f1.4 Planar.

Yep, hard to beat these old Contax's. But man oh man, this one is HUGE.

My favorite cameras. I wish I didn't sell my Contax gear. 4 cameras and 13 lenses from 18mm to 300mm. Have fun shooting Ray :)

Today again one of my rare films from my archive.

This one is from 1981 and may be not so rare since it was one of Agfa's standard color negative films of these days, the Agfacolor CNS. But it was one of the last films that wasn't developed in the C-41 process, but in Agfa's Agfacolor Process N. Shortly after that Agfa switched all negative-films to C-41. IMHO it has a color rendering of it's own.

I remember CNS Frank, I think we processed it in C22, does that sound right?

Hi Gary,

could be. This is what I try to find out at the moment. But it turns out harder then expected. I have quite some literature here. So for example an Agfa Labor Handbuch from 1970. But even there is no information about the process. I found the name Agfacolor process N in a  info-sheet that came with an Agfacolor 80 S film (the professional version of the CNS I guess). When I exposed this film I was a schoolboy and all films was given to a supermarket to be developed. So I never developed this kind of film. It took me two more years before I started to do C-41 on my own. The Agfa version off C-41 was called AP 70. So could be C22.

So if someone has some information about this I would be rather interested. Find it somehow shocking how quickly all this knowledge disappeared. Even in the internet I didn't find some useful information for now.

Regards

Frank
