Phil,

Adding to the other comments I particularly like the perfect balance of grey tones in this picture - like a painting. And the sharpness / accuracy is, I believe, typical for this lens.

PS: this thread is moving at the speed of light, it is almost impossible to keep up and comment on all that is comment-worthy... Luckily I manage at least to keep watching the contributions.

Yes James every morning when I watch my mail I have 20 mails in one page and sometimes more

This thread is really a "vivid' thread (like Portra :D )

Thank you All

Excellent IMHO in many ways. The b&w blends your artist with the background, the stones give a nice perspective, and this is one of the subject matters where films such as the Delta - with their ability to capture nuances of grays - work really well.

Love all the landscapes.

You have one big advantage over us all there Gary. I've never seen anyone (yet) put a film camera on a drone.

Love the flow from boat to house and beyond.

This is superb Keith, perfect, no more tests required.

Lovely HP5 Henry, and the contre-jour gives it flavour, not lots of 1-1-1-1-1-1 white pixels and an overly dark foreground.

Really like the second one Phil, frames within frames, within squares, whilst looking for answers in the bottom of his tea cup.

Very nice reflection, just the right balance between what's inside/outside.

Thank you Richard. Yes it's not binary code but nice and natural grain of film , and real grain not false grain

or smoothed square pixels !

Just a notice, when you scan for posting here in JPEG , scanner digitalizes a little and gives a little "smoothing"

aspect to the picture . Have you noticed that ?

It's certain HP5 is different of TX

If you like clearer picture not too black, fine grain , go for HP5 :)

I see this difference with this picture with much grain , a clear tone in comparison of TX

I've been meaning to comment Keith - I think you've found your tool! These photos with the new gear are stunning - especially this one. To be out and about in such beautiful and picturesque summertime countryside with such a great photographic tool - you must have to pinch yourself sometimes! And you are making the most of it (it will also be great for those moody wintertime shots as well, mind you!).

Why, thank you kind Sir!  Luckily for me the location is just a few minutes drive away - which is why I use it for test purposes.

Love the grain and colours - a well-seen and captured opportunity.

I agree, the OM interlude was merely a teaser for this. And to think, the camera and Elmarit probably cost less too.

I'm finding the same with my SL, my R6 and my R lenses. Plus I am happier with the SLR style, the M I found increasingly difficult.

Gary

Not really Gary - I was given the OM!  Will now try to find someone who wants to try film photography and pass it on to them.

Another country scene, twilight with Ektar/90mm Summicron 'pre ASPH'

Serene indeed!  Such tranquility depicted make one want to be there.

Finally figured out how to get  a dog to look intently into the lens. You have to  do something that interests them.........Like, put a pork rind behind your ear.

Blondie has had a tough week; it was good to see her come over for a visit under the shade.

OM2n, Zuiko 50mm 1.8, Acros 100 - exactly what I was using earlier this month and obviously you are putting yours to very good use.

A serenity scene on Ilford Delta 100.

The composition, leading lines and implied slow movement of the figures all come together to make a very pleasing image.

Thanks James, I do the same occasionally. There's much fun to be had shooting expired stock which, in my experience, often surprises in terms of how well it has kept. I have a large stash of Portra 400NC in 120 which I got for a song and shoot at EI100 without little to no degradation colour-wise.

Thank you, Philip! I sometimes buy larger collections of out of stock or long expired films from eBay, this Centuria came with one of these purchases. I like to experiment with different films and don't bother, if there are some faults.

Yes, this is good, right up my proverbial alley. Excellent stuff :)

I like this one, Paul. Nice lines throughout, and the impression is made even stronger by the fact that the top horizontal line is perfectly, well, horizontal.

Dusk silhouettes of the Peace Palace's main spire shot from our house, second one with the 2x extender. The lack in sharpness is due to the difficulty of the autofocus to lock as the light level was very low.

Beautiful color of Velvia and beautiful pictures Philip.

For the focus it's normal in autofocus in dark light condition.

Nothing replace manual focusing , you agree with me ?

Thank you

very nice!  I like the juxtaposition of the blurry painting on the right and the sharp apple on the left.

Spectacular, Gary.  Just love the little touch of vibrant color in the bottom left.

And another out the office window shot. The rock is locally known as "Split Apple Rock", I think many moons ago I posted a sea level shot of it, I'll see if I can find it.

She is pretty smart; knows where her next pork rind will come from. I suppose it is the canine version of the "golden goose."

This is a more conventional version of a scene that i shared last week.

Rather than the 80mm planar i used the Hassy SWC (38mm)

Across with either an orange or red filter.

Lower Manhattan.

Excellent photograph. For some reason, I am particularly attracted to this building, too. My hat is off to photographer....and architect. It seems almost inappropriate to use the word on something so gigantic, but it has a certain........ elegance.?

Thanks,

Wayne
