Hi PF, great to see you posting here, too. I like your series about the Pigg River dam.

br

Philip

I was riding around back in May, and came across the remains of the hydro-electric dam on the Pigg River in Franklin County, VA.  I had read about its removal some months before, but the project was well along by the time the Roanoke paper got wind of it.  I used a Leica R7 that needed a shake-down run, on Kodak Ektar 100, with the Vario Elmar-R 35-70mm 1:3.5 (my 28mm is in the shop).

Thanks Adam. I like the toning a lot. It adds an interesting atmosphere to the photo.

Thanks, Philip.  Given that I need to use my tripod and the usual deliberate process of framing, metering and waiting for the right time to shoot, I had to focus a lot of my attention on avoiding the line of sight of the police who were everywhere.  Whether or not it is strictly legal to shoot with a tripod in the tube station, they don't like it and get very suspicious when they see people taking so many things out of a camera bag like Puerto Ricans coming out of a minivan. :)  I spent a fair amount of time getting the camera level and center, which was the really critical things.  I honestly didn't even consider the line in the middle.  Probably means that the camera wasn't dead on parallel with the plane of the scene.  Not a biggie from my perspective.

I added the slight toning in Lightroom b/c to give more of a personal touch and I also think it works well with the mood, which is, after all, created by the glow of the morning sun...

This is a delightful still life, Keith.

Checking out the close focussing & the metering system on the OM2n & 50mm Zuiko f1.8.  (Same roll of Acros 100).

Truly excellent Greg. I love a well executed vanishing line.

Wow, that looks like a Transformer. Or, wait, is it a car? :D

The next shot was cropped to get it almost symmetrical. Unfortunately the driver was using this car at higher speeds before, as the dead witnesses on the front show:

These are truly terrific portraits, very well done. I think this proves my amateur theory that portraits are not taken, but given. The other ones you posted are equally good. More please :)

A recent visit to a dying shopping mall, I used Fomapan 400, a crude, gritty and contrasty film I particularly like for indoor photography.

Leica M2, Summicron DR50.

Wow, these are insanely good, both from the perspective of having an interesting subject doing interesting things and also from a technical perspective.  The first is really blowing me away b/c the photo is so clear that there is an equally interesting scene going on in the reflection of his glasses :)  I agree with Philip about please sharing more!

To break protocol slightly, here are some photographs I did not take. This was a roll of film I found in a bag of cameras I bought at a local charity shop. This was my first "found film". I have found and developed 2 more since this one but this is the most impressive, the whole film contains 36 pretty good photos. I have identified the location of these photos and am trying to find the family.

Camera - unknown, film - Ansco Ultra-Speed Panchromatic, developed in Ilfosol 3 for 20 minutes. Location, 4407 Shaw Blvd, St. Louis, Missouri.
