SilentShutter Posted July 13, 2017 Share #36021 Posted July 13, 2017 Advertisement (gone after registration) For a long time I had still a analoge camera laying in my drawer near my studio computer. So I asked a colleague dropping by for this fast portrait at the office window. Leica R8 with a R80-200 full apperature and (of course) Kodak Tri-X400.....

Doc Henry Posted July 13, 2017 Author Share #36023 Posted July 13, 2017 (edited) I met Dragan Velikic at a congress in Konstanz while he was intodrucing his new book and asked him for a quick portrait between some another appointments. With the R1,4/80 and Kodak Tri-X400 you are pretty prepared for anything...... For a long time I had still a analoge camera laying in my drawer near my studio computer. So I asked a colleague dropping by for this fast portrait at the office window. Leica R8 with a R80-200 full apperature and (of course) Kodak Tri-X400..... Very nice lovely and "soft" portraits without any agressiveness. Very pleasant to watch not like in digital The grains in the second picture are very nice and natural The skin is superb in black and grey tones Thank you for posting SS Henry Edited July 13, 2017 by Doc Henry

Best, Wayne A "fairy" eyes , sincerily really nice. An example of one picture with a "soul" , not flat , soft and without agressiveness when watching .... and SS , you must print on Ilford silver paper , not inkjet please , nicer and ultimate result of your work ! Michael Hiles Posted July 13, 2017 Share #36033 Posted July 13, 2017 (edited) Since tomorrow is Bastille Day, this is a small “merci” for one of France’s many gifts to us all – gothic architecture. This is the Basilica of Saint Denis in a suburb of Paris. This was the first gothic structure ever, built under the guidance of Abbott Suger (pronounced soojay) in the 12th century. It is a bit of a hike from the centre of Paris (take the metro), but well worth the effort. All the great cathedrals of western Europe flow from this place. XP2, if it matters. Welcome, dear visitor! philipus Posted July 13, 2017 Share #36036 Posted July 13, 2017 (edited) Both these portaits are very nicely done. But how do you get Tri-X to look like this? Did you use flash? What developer etc? I have never managed to get anything near this with Tri-X in the 135 format. Very impressive results. br Philip I met Dragan Velikic at a congress in Konstanz while he was intodrucing his new book and asked him for a quick portrait between some another appointments. I have never managed to get anything near this with Tri-X in the 135 format. Very impressive results. br Philip Dear Philip both portraits are taken with natural light. The film was developed by a laboratory as I know with Tetenal Ultrafine Plus. I scanned it with my Reflecta ProScan 7200 at best resolution and saved it as Tiff format. Fine adjustment was done in CameraRaw. So no big magic behind it.....maybe just the experience of almost 25 years photography ?
