Some more hipster Portra landscapes for Adam.

The distinctive Beech hanger on Tenants Hill near Little Bredy, Dorset. This hill is one of the highest points on the ridgeway that runs east/west just inland of the Dorset Coast. Commanding fine views all round it is also the site of the Kingston Russell Stone Circle which features in the second photo.

Not exactly Stonehenge but the Kingston Russell stone circle is still a favourite place of mine.

I know of a parliament of rooks. Apparently a building of rooks is another collective term. Just outside Ludwell in Dorset. BW400CN (I have only 5 rolls of this stuff left) and 28 Summaron-M.

Fukase's Ravens meets Worzel Gummidge. :)

Excellent photograph. My favorite has always been a murder of crows. Is that in usage in UK?

Wayne , can you tell me some information about this picture about camera and lens ?

You have a wide angle isn't ?

Really superb color and picture

Thank you

Henry

The camera is fitted with a 26mm lens that rotates on a turret to produce a photograph covering a range of about 126 degrees. Exposure is controlled through use of aperture adjustment and control of the speed at which turret rotates. Horizontal alignment of the camera is absolutely critical. one funny aspect of the camera is that, at slowest turret rotation, an individual can start out at one end of the photograph, run to the other end of the field or view, and appear in a photograph two times. I suppose, if they are fast enough, they could stop in the middle and appear three times.

Thanks Wayne. Yes, a murder of crows is still the collective noun as far as I'm aware (though I don't think many people use these terms in general conversation so I'm not sure I'd say it is "in usage" as such).

I believe that was once a common practice of naughty schoolboys posing for the school photograph.

Ian - yes, the versatility of pro color film stock is almost criminal it is such a bargain. I am so glad that you have become a "partner in crime." Your new posts are also very nice.

Yes, certainly my inclination is for less exposure but it was quite harsh light at the time and I thought I'd run with the current fad for the overexposed bleachy Portra look. If you are going to use the expensive "premium" film stocks I guess you have to embrace the whole hipster lifestyle that goes with those. :D

I clicked on the link and enjoyed the history of this area, thank you Ian.

Hipster is good too, nice to see Portra 400 in general use, I am contemplating this film while in Europe in a few months.
