Guest NEIL-D-WILLIAMS

I love your tales, Neil. Just remember, in hindsight, bad experiences are some of the best ones!

I'm in KL at the moment, but heading up to Bangkok tomorrow for some meetings. I've decided to catch the train back down to Sungai Golok and fly back from Kota Bharu this time - I used to catch that train every month when I was working off Terengganu, and living up in Lampang, but it's about 15 years since I last did that.

I'll take my SWC and F1 New w/ FD 17mm with me, so it's all gonna be wide, wide, wide...

mate can't wait to see your photos from the train trip. You'll have to let me know about that. I'm a old train spotter so love trains......... might do that one trip :)

I like the subdued colour you are getting, Wayne. What film is this? I'm probably being a bit thick but when I googled Arista 200, the only films it brought up are black and white.

It is my idiocy, combined with advancing age. The film is Agfa Vista. In my head, I can understand where "Arista" might have come from..........I do not expect others will. :)

Thanks Eoin. Here's another from that roll. A moodier variation looking more directly towards the sun.

Picture with great nuance. I like much

Very subtle light in the middle of shadows

Great picture Ian !

I had a feeling that was what you meant. Perhaps we should shorten it to Avista?  :D  That's the film that Adam told me off for using. :D

Ian, your last three pictures have a very peaceful, soothing atmosphere. The colors in this nice light are marvellous. These pictures are a good reminder of the pure magic of nature and its great powers - unfortunately so often forgotten in these troubled times. Thank you very much for sharing these moments here with us, they brought a good feeling (to me at least) :)

The contrast between the pictures I just mentioned above, and this reminder of some of the darkest days in newer history couldn't be wider. At least the deeds of Schindler helped to keep a small glint of hope in humanity alive.
