Thanks Gary. My nephew works in London. I just send him a message.

Henry

She's not in London but there is a system where people can be called in from all over the UK to help at their local police station, I can't believe this is the 3rd attack since March

What bothers me about it and also angry is that I sacrifice myself to go to care for people

in multiple missions and that there are some individuals who have fun with the lives of others.

Frustrating !

Morning sky fire over the East River (which by the way isn't technically a "river" but really part of the Atlantic Ocean :) )

(Manhattan Bridge and Williamsburg Bridge in the background.)

Linhof Technika Press 6X9, Zeiss Sonar 180mm (each, circa late 1950's), Portra 160

So you have a Press 70 and a Technika Press also? Edited by tri

These are all lovely pictures, James, and shows what good things can happen when you "bend" the rules (like using a high ISO tungsten film for landscapes and portraits!). May I just ask whether you used a filter (85B or whatever it's supposed to be) on your lens or filtered out the tungsten bluey colour when you scanned?

Thank you for your kind words! I had the roll of Cinestill in my camera, because I intended to do some testing in the Berlin underground stations and for some indoor stuff. But as it happens, I had a lot of exposures left, as we went on our weekend trip. No filter on hand I had to correct the white balance in Lightroom.

M7, 28mm Summicron Asph, Svema 400.

Printing the mid 19th Century style.

One thing I love about well executed displays of historical events is the chance it affords to reflect on how THINGS have changed, but being a human begin has not. The printing equipment in the photo is authentic. Upon surrender of the Confederate army, the task came to hand of issuing parole certificates for each member of that army. The fact that the U.S. army was able to immediately begin that printing process meant that, evidently, that army carried the printing equipment in their baggage train; and I thought about that as I stared at the equipment. It appeared complex, bulky, and, most of all, HEAVY. I thought about the various sergeants, corporals, and privates moaning and complaining as they were forced to load and transport the equipment, in the middle of a war, using mule drawn wagons, over mile after mile of poor dirt roads and trails. Having been one- an underling in military service- I am certain there was plenty of cursing about the idea of dragging the printing presses around. It made me laugh.....Feel closer to the events.

1865 jailer's desk and equipment. Genuine fly, on wall, adding a measure of authenticity.
