Neil you mean develop film negative or paper silver print ?

If print , It's better you don't have water too much cold that's all

My reply above is for film

H

If it's for negative , I continue :)

for stop with acetic acid or white vinegar 8-10% bought in super market

I think it's better  you keep the same temperature between all the steps of dev.

When I dev color negative , dev. - acetic ac.and fixer must be at the same

temperture

(38°C or 30°C).

I would say not at all important, Neil. I don't worry about the temperature. The stop is just neutralizing the developer, and preventing further development. If I'm concerned about the fixer, I test an off-cut of the same film type, and see how long it takes to turn clear (or as clear as it's going to get). I then use 2 - 2.5 times that time on the exposed film. Over-fixing is not usually a problem. Under-fixing can be.

I haven't developed any film for the last 25 years but if I remember correctly, over-fixing may be equally as bad, as the fixer starts to affect the light exposed areas too.

One thing to add to the answers on temperature of stop and fixer (and washing water too): don't let them be very cold as it can cause reticulation as the emulsion contracts with a sudden change in temperature and cracks apart like a dry river bed.

It happened to my film once and it was entirely ruined.

Hi All , just pass M10 thread ,  I see this thread of Nowhereman

http://www.l-camera-forum.com/topic/268393-m10-color-rendition-compared-to-m9-m240-sl-cameras/

That's the proof it has something not satisfying in color for the sensor.

As I said above, spectrum of sensor curve and spectrum of eyes curve*  do not match in comparison

and as long as it does not match , we will always have a problem of similarity

This is valid for Leica and for all other digital brands.

I left the world of digital but I am always interested in what is done in the digital domain

Simple scientific curiosity that comes back to me

Have a nice day All and you're right to shoot film in waiting for the future :)...  may be

* I'll post these spectres if you want

Have you tried a Sony A7 ?

I just realised that second shot is from 107 rolls of film ago! I have a bit of catching up to do..

I'll be down there next Thursday, got 13 rolls HP5 35mm, 5 rolls Ektar 120 and 10 rolls Foma 400 120 i think i should be ok for film

Canon EOS 650, EF 80-200, Agfa Vista Plus 200

Really like the colors of this Vista 200. Some people claim it's a rebadged Fuji, but I think the colors are different from what Fuji normally delivers. It does have the European feel reminiscent of old Agfa films.
